Tickets are £12, unless otherwise indicated, and can be purchased through Eventbrite (there will be a link if this is available) or by contacting us directly. Open Mics – please note that they are usually on the first Friday of every month. Because of Easter this year, we have put two Open Mics in March. There are no Open Mics in August, or December.

Friday 6th January 7–10pmOpen Mic. If you would like to come along, please ring The

Saturday 14th January 3–5pmHave-a-go Afternoon! Local performers invited to come
and perform to make a wonderful evening of music, word and theatre. Winners of Ship Inn
Talents 2022 invited to perform. Tickets £5 for adults. Children free.

Saturday 18th February 7pm – “Clayson sings Chanson” performed by Alan Clayson and
accompanied on the piano by Andy Lavery
– a unique music and theatrical evening! This show has been on the road since 2011, initially to tie-in with the publication of Alan Clayson’s Jacques Brel biography, La Vie Bohème – though the presentation’s origins lie too in 1999’s acclaimed Ne Me Quitte Pas: A Celebration Of Jacques Brel, an all-star album on which Alan’s contributions were highlights. With accompaniment and supporting programme from songwriter and vocalist Andy Lavery, the show is prefaced by an explanatory talk that is as entertaining as it is educational. Refreshments of jacket potatoes and fillings.

Saturday 18th March 7pm Callum Gardner, singer and acoustic guitarist, will perform a
variety of pop and well known music, Beatles, Bee-Gees, Fleetwood Mac, Bob Marley and
more!

Saturday 15th April 7pm – Courtlye Musick. Shakespeare poetry and music on instruments
of Henry VIII’s time and even the possibility of a Pavane dance! Refreshments will be served during the Interval.

Saturday 6th May 3–5pm – Angela Moore (harp) and Peter Jenkins (violin) “A Musical
Cream Tea”
. Come and relax, chat and listen to the beautiful music in the background. Children free.

Saturday 20th May 7pm – 3p Suite with Colin Eglin, Martin Grundy and Andrew Jackson. 3p
Suite are an award-winning close harmony a cappella trio. They perform a range of music
including Rixton, One Republic, Michael Bublé, One Direction, The Beatles, Simon and
Garfunkel.

Saturday 17th June 7pm – Kingsclere Singers. Our local choir, with Hazel O’Leary (Director) and
Paul Freeman (Accompanist). A wonderful evening music and film music with a chance to
join in too! Refreshments available.

Saturday 15th July 3–5pm – Mad Hatters Tea Party! A delicious Afternoon Tea with a shanty band!. You are
welcome to dress up if you want to!! Kindly organised by Jon Whitfield, featuring ditties from Alice in Wonderland. Children free.

Saturday 16th September 3–5pm – Apple Pie Competition! Two judges will judge all the pies and the winner will be presented with a special trophy. Afterwards the rest of the pies will be eaten, served with cream! You will be entertained by Sax Club4, Martin and Stephanie Hinson, Helen and James Bamford will be playing us some tunes on their saxophones! they have even found “A Pie Suite!” £5 a ticket for all entrants and audience.

Saturday 14th October 3–5pm “Autumn Leaves”. Words and a mixture of music to celebrate the
season. Belle Canto are performing as part of this event. Gabriele McKeown, Heather Sims and Helen Marlow are a local talented musical trio who sing a wide range of songs in many genres with a theatrical twist! Twinduo will also perform at this event, a very musically dynamic duo! Two twin sisters, Jane and Alison Pickering will perform piano, saxophone and vocals. Children free.

Friday 17th November and Saturday 18th November 7pm – Theatrical play/performance – we are currently looking for a Theatre company, or Amateur Theatrical Players to perform something for these two nights, please do get in touch if you might be interested, by ringing The Ship: 01189 814504 – TBC

Friday 1st December 7–10pm – Talent at The Ship! There will be three age categories and judges will decide on a winner on the night. Winners in each group will receive a trophy and certificate, and also get a chance to play on 12th January 2024 event. £3 for performers. Entry forms will be given out in September and the cut off date will be 1st November 2023 to apply.

Saturday 16th December 7pm – Nigel Butler will bring his wonderful band to sing carols. There will also be delicious cakes, made by Nigel! Free event.
