Open Mics – please note that they are usually on the first Friday of every month. Because of Easter this year, we have put two Open Mics at the beginning and end of March! Just turn up! If you would like a drink and a listen, pop by – the bar is open all evening. There are no Open Mics in April, August, or December.
General information:
All ticket prices are £12 unless otherwise specified. Refreshments are donated, not in the ticket price. Tickets from Eventbrite can be purchased one month before the date of the event. (To find us on Eventbrite Website, click on “search events” it will come up with “location” type in this ashfordhill as one word – our events up to two months ahead will be on Eventbrite).
You can also purchase tickets directly by ringing The Ship: 01189 814504. As we are a small venue of 40 seats, early booking is essential. Any donations for the food gratefully appreciated. Thank you. The bar is open before, during interval and afterwards.
Wellbeing Workshops take place every month except January, April, August and December. These are FREE of charge. Please bring own lunch, tea and coffee provided.
The Full Day Workshops HAVE BEEN CANCELLED UNTIL LATER IN THE YEAR regarding IT issues – we will inform you all on the Website and on our Facebook page when they start up. These workshops are particularly for Clinicians and Practitioners, but anyone can come to these. Time: 9.30am – 4.30pm – The Full Day Workshops are £95 – tea and coffee and light lunch is provided. The workshops are February through to November (no workshop in August and December).
Craft Workshops 11am – 2pm. Bring your own lunch. Tea and Coffee provided. £5 per workshop. Each month our guest artist/crafter will help us have fun learning a new skill. Learning how to make a beautiful article for you to enjoy and share with friends and family. Make a gift for a special person. The group may also share skills, and show each other different crafts and art work, just bring a project of your own you are working on. Make beautiful objects out of recycled items, discarded boxes, tins, jars, materials etc. Alternatively, just join us and come and chat. It will be shortly after the Kings Coronation, so we could make a scrap book of your memories and your high points of the King’s Coronation weekend, or make something to do with this special event. Saturday 16th September 3–5pm – Apple Pie Competition! Two judges will judge all the pies and the winner will be presented with a special trophy. Afterwards the rest of the pies will be eaten, served with cream! You will be entertained by Sax Club4, Martin and Stephanie Hinson, Helen and James Bamford will be playing us some tunes on their saxophones! they have even found “A Pie Suite!” £5 a ticket for all entrants and audience.

Saturday 14th October 3–5pm “Autumn Leaves”. Words and a mixture of music to celebrate the
season. Belle Canto are performing as part of this event. Gabriele McKeown, Heather Sims and Helen Marlow are a local talented musical trio who sing a wide range of songs in many genres with a theatrical twist! Twinduo will also perform at this event, a very musically dynamic duo! Two twin sisters, Jane and Alison Pickering will perform piano, saxophone and vocals. Children free.
