We had a wonderful evening had been organised by Hazel O’Leary here at Shipinnarts, Ashford Hill on Friday 2nd December 2022. Local musicians and theatrical performers and singers and dancers were invited to come and take part and perform. Ages ranged from 8 all the way up to 70 and we had such a variety of performances! We had pianists, a harpist, singers and dancers from Razzamataz and to finish Gilbert and Sullivan songs by Don and Paul Freeman.
Heart-warming performances and such a lovely atmosphere, everyone so happy and excited to take part and the audience eager to hear them. Hazel O’Leary, Jon Whitfield and Jane Pickering (the judges), sprinkled around the room, then decided on the three winners of each age category, it was all very close and it was extremely hard for a decision to be made.
During the interval Scarlet Bassil played on the piano and Alison Pickering played a medley of carols while people sang along.
The winners were announced at the end before we all went home.
We hope to hold this next year in December and would love to give any performers around a chance to have a platform to perform without being judged, so not a competition.
